A workshop was
conducted for all the teachers of Innocent Hearts School at GMT campus. The
theme was “Innovative Teaching Techniques” and the resource person was Mr. Gulraj
Singh Shahpuri a psychologist and eminent speaker. It was an interactive
workshop that stressed on the need to change the teaching methods used since
centuries. The main point was that 75% of the personality of a child develops in
the age group of 12 to 13 years so every child must be given the opportunity to
develop. Teachers must smile as they or the children enter the room as the
first 7 seconds of interaction make the difference. He encouraged group work as
it helps develop the personality of a child. Everyone must convince themselves
that they are incredible in order to become so. In the words of Abraham
Lincoln, “Luck is a combination of opportunity and preparedness”. The main
advice for teachers was ‘For things to change, you have to change.’ The stage
was conducted by Ms. Ambika. Director Principal, Mr. DheerajBanati,
Vice-Principal, Ms. SharmilaNakra, Examination Incharge-Ms. GurvinderKaur and Junior
Wing InchargeMs. HarleenGulria were present on the occasion. Director Principal
Mr. DheerajBanatiappreciated the techniques shared by Mr. Gulraj and said that
these must be implemented in daily teaching.
The measurement of central value is also known as average. For example we often talk about the average height or average life of an Indian etc. Types of Average Arithmetic Mean, Harmonic Mean, Geometric Mean (1) Individual Observation (2) Discrete Series (3) Continuous series (a) Simple Arithmetic Mean Que. 1 Calculate the Arithmetic Mean-With Individual Series Que. 2 Calculate the Arithmetic Mean-With Discrete Series Que. 3.
